Reminder: "If Geeks Ruled the World..."

It's the 22nd! The deadline for this nerdy entry is in 3 days! So get your creativity in gear and post your blog (you can sign up below; there's no need to check the original topic post... unless you really, really want to).

Also, we've (for now) decided against open anonymous voting, primarily because we feel that 10thDoM should be by bloggers, for bloggers. That, and we've been around long enough to know that those bloggers with fewer followers and subscribers will be at a serious disadvantage when it comes to obtaining votes.

But, we ARE changing the rule that winners can't pick two (or more, if the case may be) topics in row. From now on, winners can run the gamut, as it were. So, Rule #5:

  • Participants cannot "win" two entries in a row. In the event of someone "winning" a consecutive topic, the "second place" blogger picks the next topic.

... is going bye-bye! This rule change will take effect with the next topic (sorry, Nicole!).

Also, we'd just like to note that if you want to write more than one entry per topic, feel free. Just make sure they're clearly delineated for voting purposes.

Anyway, if you haven't posted already, get on it!

"If Geeks Ruled the World..."

Nicole is curious. What would happen

"If geeks ruled the world... "

Hmmmm...

Remember, don't sign up until you've posted the entry on your site and link that entry directly (not your blog home page). Also, the previous winner IS eligible to participate and vote, he or she just can't pick the next topic.

Leave a comment and let us know you're game!

Post as soon as you're ready, and we'll post a reminder on the 22nd (along with some rule changes). Voting begins after the 25th!

Winner: "Moon"

This one came down to the wire; right down to the final vote! Definitely an example of every single vote counting...

Congratulations to Nicole for taking the 10thDoM lunar crown for "Moon!"

Check out her winning entry: Moon

Tune in on the 16th when Nicole's topic/theme is revealed to the rest of us nocturnal bloggers!

Voting: "Moon"

"Moon" has a record number of entries: 13. Yeah, yeah, big whoop... but we're growing. Posting is now closed and voting is now open.

Jelly (#13) is the final entry. Doors are sealed, ushers are armed and dangerous, and the ticket office is ready to explode.

Will the lunar authors please list (in a comment responding to this post) their Top 3 (in order of preference)? Please remember these simple rules:
  1. Don't vote for yourself. Narcissism is frowned upon here. Well, okay, it's not frowned upon... it's just not allowed during voting.
  2. If you don't vote, you can't win. And if you didn't write, you can't vote. And if you can't read, you can't write.
  3. Fill out a full ballot; partials aren't counted. Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades
Voting closes on the 13th. Read all the entries via the links below (those aren't new links... just a copy of the links from the "Moon" entry)!

Thanks!

Reminder: "Moon"

Just a reminder, you hesitant 10thDoMinioners... deadline for your "Moon" entries is in three (count 'em: 1, 2, 3) days!

Also, we're going to use these "Reminder" posts as a sort of forum for suggestions, complaints, and anything else our participants might want to share (shoe sizes, anyone?). 10thDoM is a work-in-progress and we'd love your input on how to improve it.

Something we're looking for right now is a voting or polling or rating widget that we can easily implement between the entry and voting posts. Any ideas?

Anyway, enough for now. Get on your "Moon" entries if you haven't already (yes, AB, we're talking to YOU)! When you're ready, post the link at our previous post: "Moon."

"Moon"

Brian Miller wants us to step out at night, look up at the sky, and wax poetic/prosaic/whatever-ic about...

"MOON"

Full moon; crescent moon; pants-half-down moon. No matter, give us what you got!

Remember, don't sign up until you've posted the entry on your site and link that entry directly (not your blog home page). Also, the previous winner IS eligible to participate and vote, he or she just can't pick the next topic (although we are mulling changing this one, Yodood!).

Leave a comment and let us know you're game!

Post as soon as you're ready, and we'll post a reminder on the 7th. Voting begins after the 10th!
