Winner: "Fear in Shattered Color"

It's official: amid some of the strongest competition to date, the bravest of us all is...

Krys!

Since she's a motherless daughter, she has no profile pic! Nevertheless, check out her winning entry here:

Runner-Up: JeffScape, "The Lovers Spectra"

Check back on New Year's Day to find out what fears she will have us confront next!

Voting: "Fear in Shattered Color"

Relax. Breathe in. Breathe out. Our fears are finally under control.

Yes, we have confronted and conquered that which makes us keep the night-light on, and now it's time to vote. So study the phobias if you've not done so already, and let us know who you like the best.

Jelly (#11) is the final entry. All others shall remain in the vague and disturbing world of black and white. The winner will step out of the shadows on the 29th.

Reminder: "Fear in Shattered Color"

It's the 22nd, which means that there are only 3 days left. Yes, we realize that would make the deadline Christmas, but hey! Writers write regardless, no?

Anyway, if the Yule Tide's not taking up too much of your Yule Time, get on your prose! Your poetry! Your fear! Your rods and cones!

In other news, there have been some questions regarding the time our deadlines and posts adhere to. Ladies and Gentlemen (if I can direct your attention to the instructions found on the left side of the front page), we operate on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) (watch out for British "Summer Time!"). Oddly enough, one of the questions came from an admin here!

On the 16th of December, we also added sort of a new "prize" for winning: a blog-roll. Basically, if you win a topic/theme, we'll forever list your blog here. Not much, we know, but we're building community, right?

Starting in January, you will likely notice that "comment approval" will be turned on. It's not that we like comment approval (I, for one, can't stand it... and I think the other admins are with me on this), but we do like having some semblance of anonymity during the voting process. ALL comments (save spam) will be approved, and the votes WILL be revealed once the winner for a topic/theme is announced. In other words: nothing's really changing.

Also, recognizing that February is a short month and does not allow us to have two regularly-scheduled topics/themes, we're working on coming up with something special/unusual/different for our illustrious second month of the year. Nothing's in stone yet, however, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know.

Thanks, and enjoy your holiday!

"Fear in Shattered Color"

Let's do this.

"FEAR IN SHATTERED COLOR"

Give it a whirl, whether you think you have something good or not. After all, what's there to be afraid of?

Remember, don't sign up until you've posted the entry on your site and link that entry directly (not your blog home page). Until then, leave a comment and let us know you're game!

Post as soon as you're ready, and we'll post a reminder (and some notes and musings) on the 22nd. Voting begins the day after Christmas!

Speaking of... Merry Christmas, everybody! And to those who may not celebrate that particular holiday, may you enjoy whatever holiday you do celebrate!

Winner: "Threshold"

The winner for this go 'round, on the topic of Threshold is:

JeffScape!

Check out his winning entry here:

Come back on the 16th of December for Jeff's topic/theme!

Voting: "Threshold"

The threshold has been sealed! Those unlucky enough to be trapped inside (i.e., the authors) must now deliberate and vote for their favorite entries. We'll reveal the door hiding the winner once the threshold to December 14th is crossed.

Dave (#9) is the final entry. Any late-comers can stay outside and (depending on their climate) freeze to death!

Anybody who wants to win needs to list their Top 3, in order of preference.

Thanks!

Reminder: "Threshold"

It's the 7th, and we're here to remind you that if you've yet gone through the threshold, you've only got three more days!

And, don't forget, the previous winner (Yodood!) can win this one, too!

Also, Yodood got kinda bored and redesigned our banner, so we're proudly announcing that we'll be putting the new version up on January 1st.

"Threshold"

Yodood summarily asks us to take a step forward and tolerate as much as we can...

...through the "THRESHOLD."

Carried, pushed, or pained... what sort of threshold will you encounter?

Remember, don't sign up until you've posted the entry on your site and link that entry directly (not your blog home page). In the meantime, leave a comment and let us know you're game!

Post as soon as you're ready, and we'll post a reminder on the 7th. Voting begins after the 10th!
