Winner: "The Harmony of Liquid and the Melody of Light"

Proving that length and multiple entries are no guarantee of victory against short and sweet, well-constructed prose. A tight call this time round, but only one bathes in glory and comes into the light. Congratulations to our Australian songbird:

Bimbimbie!

Great effort amongst a competitive field with a grizly tale of inebriation and decapitation. Sweet music to our ears.

Bimbimbie's Muse will appear 16 November, and the next Muse will be posted on 1 November.

Voting: "The Harmony of Liquid and the Melody of Light"

Abandon liquid desire, it's time for distilled damnation. Don't keep us in the dark, bring one star into the light.  Don't want to cause any disharmony or break up the choir but you need to list your Top 3 in the comments.

There are 2.5 days to vote. The winner will be announced on the 29th. Sink or swim or just lift someone into the spotlight. Don't forget to vote!

Outstanding Fingers of Aidos (FoA)

Don't want to see your name listed here? Don't forget to vote.

Clearly a lot of our finger earners aren't ballsy enough to come back so we're only listing fingers earned by potentially outstanding peeps who just didn't get around to voting:

Cinnamon . . .such a shame because...well you got it girl.

Reminder: "The Harmony of Liquid and the Melody of Light"

Time's running out like liquid down the sink hole in a shimmering spiral, but there's a few more days to make light and music. Stretch your limits, strike a chord and light up our lives. C'mon we can make beautiful music together.

*Tenth Daughter of Memory RECRUITMENT DRIVE... with a prize.
Fancy a head start in the next River of Mnemosyne Challenge? We're on a recruitment drive, because competition's good for everyone! And whoever brings in the most participants between now and 2012 wins!

Here's how it works:
  • Bring in a first time player and you'll score 3 points.
  • Revive a player who hasn't played since 2010 and we'll slip you 2 points.
  • Bring back a player who hasn't been involved since June 2011 and you'll get 1 point.
  • Make sure to tell everyone you bring in or bring back to let the admins know who recruited them. They can notify us by comment or email.

Whoever has the most points as of January 1st, 2012 gets to pick the opening Muse for River of Mnemosyne. Which probably means the winner gets to the pick the first two RoM Muses, since their first part should be ready to go as soon as the challenge starts.

Also, give us a plug on your website and tag your sidebar with our logo. The more the merrier.

Winner: "Concrete Butterfly"

There are many artists in our midst, but the one whose words sculpted a butterfly that defies gravity?

JeffScape!

Perhaps he does sting like a bee? At any rate, congratulations goes out to our first Hesperidan Apple (we always knew JeffScape was a fruit) and our second two-time back-to-back winner (the first being lovable Tom at Half-Moose)! Check out JeffScape's winning entry:

JeffScape's Muse will appear November 1st. Come back October 16th for... JeffScape's other Muse!

Reminder: "Concrete Butterfly"

Time to put those finishing touches on your creation. The butterfly will soon take flight. Sure, it sounds impossible, but we're creating magic here, right?

"Concrete Butterfly"

Mind or soul? Does Tom of Half Moose agree with our favorite Greeks who believe the butterfly is a symbol of the mind or psyche?  Or does he fall on the side of others around the globe who see it as a symbol of the soul? There’s one thing for sure, though. Tom isn't picturing a butterfly with gossamer wings for this muse.

"CONCRETE BUTTERFLY"

So which is it for you?  Will you present the saga of a soul hardened to stone or spin a tale of a psyche cast in concrete?  Put that chisel to work and fashion your vision for all to see.
